WRC Safari Rally, To Benefit Nakuru Counties Tourism Sector

WRC SAFARI RALLY, NAKURU COUNTY TO BENEFIT AND WILL USE THIS EVENT FOR THE MUCH NEEDED  RECOVERY OF THE TOURISM SECTOR IN THE COUNTY

 

Starting this year, the WRC Safari Rally will be hosted in Nakuru County for three consecutive years (2021-2023) after 19 years of absence.

 

With WRC Safari Rally coming back to Kenya, and noting the legacy nature of the 2021 edition of this great rally championship, WRC Safari Rally Kenya Secretariat has partnered with Nakuru County Tourism Association to ensure a flawless hospitality experience. Through this partnership, the association is carrying out a capacity building program for tourism and hospitality players who will be in contact with participants, officials and guests of WRC Safari Rally 2021 in Nakuru County.

Speaking while opening the WRC Tourism Training program, Mr. Raymond Komen, CEC of Trade and Tourism in Nakuru County Government, said that the County will leverage on WRC Safari to accelerate tourism recovery in Nakuru County noting that the county has enormous tourism diversity.  He further retaliated the county government of Nakuru’s commitment to work with the tourism and hospitality players like NCTA to accelerate the sector recovery. “Safari Rally is a high-end lifestyle sport attracting great fans including the elite, famous and people with high spending power. We must strive to attract them to come back and invest in Nakuru,” said Komen. He added that this is an opportunity to bring our tourism and hospitality back to work after such a hard season.

 

This partnership between Nakuru County Tourism Association and WRC Safari Rally Kenya is founded on the belief that among the critical stakeholders that will play a significant role in making this event successful are those in the tourism and hospitality sector especially in Nakuru County where the event is domiciled.

The ongoing trainings will better equip Nakuru County tourism and hospitality stakeholders with the right knowledge and skills necessary to host Safari Rally guests from different nations in strict adherence to health protocols.

 

The training program coordinator, who is the chairman of Nakuru County Tourism Association assured all private sector tourism and hospitality players of his commitment to bring out first class service standards that will leave a positive lasting experience in the mind and hearts of all safari rally participants, guests and everyone who will attend the WRC Safari rally. He also emphasized and noted the importance of this event having in mind that Kenya is the only country out of all the 54 nations of Africa and Nakuru is the only county out of all the 47 counties hosting this international event.

 

The WRC Safari Rally will be held in Nakuru from 23rd to 27th June 2021 covering three sub counties of Nakuru namely Naivasha, Gilgil and Nakuru Town West.
