Nisha Pandya – Women In Motorsport
Nisha Pandya started Buggy racing in the year 2015. Her debut event was KMSC (Kenya Motor Sports Club) March 2015. She was the only female Race for 2 years consecutively. In her class, she is still the only female competitor to date. She had raced from the year 2015 to 2018 then she stopped. She decided to restart her racing career this year on Feb 14th, 2021 at the Kasarani Sports Event hosted by Rallye Sports Club. Her current position in this season 2021 is No:7 out of 17 competitors. In addition to that, she is a Club member with Rallye Sports Club.
Nisha Pandya’s Achievements
- Being recognized by Sikh Union Club for completing two years nonstop racing being the only female driver.
- She won the Woman’s Bowl trophy in 2016.
- My first interview was with the KBC on 25th April 2015, followed by recent media coverage on Citizen, KBC, and KTN on 12/11/2021.
Nisha Pandya’s Future Plans
- She is currently planning to start her career into becoming a navigator.
- She wants to start participating in KNRC (Kenya National Rally Championship) Events in a Rally car.
- Promote & motivate and Support women in rally motorsports because she feels that women aren’t recognized enough in this sport.
- Assisting the new upcoming all women’s only rally team known as the Lioness Rally team led by Lisa Christofferson. “I’m thrilled with their missions and goals and will want to be part of them”.
- She looks forward to participating in future training programs for Women in motorsport which will be done through KMSF such as scrutineering & mechanical understanding in Motorsports.
- “I also want to volunteer in the future KNRC events to get a better understanding of the other side of Motorsports apart from my regular Autocross events”.
