He came to Kampala / Uganda in 2006 to open the Metropole Hotel before, after two years at the Holiday Inn in Dar es Salaam, joining Sun Africa Hotels in Nairobi. He has remained with the group ever since he joined in 2010 and he is now leading the company’s regional business, playing a leading role in its core areas of expertise.

Qatar Airways lands in Portugal for first time
Qatar Airways’ first ever passenger flight to Portugal landed at Lisbon Airport earlier, as the airline adds to its rapidly expanding European network.
Operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, flight QR343 was greeted with a water cannon salute on arrival.
Present on board the inaugural flight to Lisbon was the Portuguese ambassador to Qatar, Ricardo Pracana, and Qatar Airways chief commercial officer, Simon Talling-Smith.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to launch direct services to Lisbon, the latest addition to Qatar Airways’ rapidly expanding European network.
“Lisbon is renowned for its extensive history and culture, boasting a rich artistic and gastronomic heritage.
Turkish Airlines Inaugurates Direct Istanbul-Port Harcourt Route
Turkish Airlines has commenced direct flights between Istanbul and Port Harcourt, Rivers State in the South-South region of Nigeria. The inaugural flight was operated on 24 June, 2019.With the new direct service, passengers from Port Harcourt can now experience the airline’s on board hospitality four times a week aboard the Boeing 737-900ER.
