Qatar Airways’ first ever passenger flight to Portugal landed at Lisbon Airport earlier, as the airline adds to its rapidly expanding European network.

Operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, flight QR343 was greeted with a water cannon salute on arrival.

Present on board the inaugural flight to Lisbon was the Portuguese ambassador to Qatar, Ricardo Pracana, and Qatar Airways chief commercial officer, Simon Talling-Smith.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to launch direct services to Lisbon, the latest addition to Qatar Airways’ rapidly expanding European network.

“Lisbon is renowned for its extensive history and culture, boasting a rich artistic and gastronomic heritage.


Turkish Airlines Inaugurates Direct Istanbul-Port Harcourt Route

Turkish Airlines has commenced direct flights between Istanbul and Port Harcourt, Rivers State in the South-South region of Nigeria. The inaugural flight was operated on 24 June, 2019.With the new direct service, passengers from Port Harcourt can now experience the airline’s on board hospitality four times a week aboard the Boeing 737-900ER.

Summer is that time of the year where those bitten by the “Travel Bug”  experience wanderlust and explore the world. Kenya Airways is increasing flight frequencies to popular destinations to meet the growing customer demand for the holiday travel. We are additionally excited about the opening of our new destination Geneva and our resumption of flights to Rome & Malindi.  
 
Furthermore, we have increased our flights to New York with daily frequencies just in time for the summer holidays, available up to 8th Sep 2019.

 

In the European markets we have the following additional frequencies:
 
  • Amsterdam, AMS- We will have 2 additional flights weekly (Fri & Sat) effective 19Jul till 17Aug, Making it a total of 9 weekly flights.
  • Paris, CDG – With 2 additional flights on (Tue & Thu) we will be flying 9 times weekly effective 16Jul till 22Aug
  • In addition to the three European hubs (Paris, Amsterdam and London), we are now flying to Rome and Geneva 4 times weekly from the 12th of June 2019
Our enhanced schedule for our Domestic routes is as follows;
 
  • Mombasa -62 weekly to 66 weekly flights effective 14th June 2019 additional flights on Bombadier Q400 operated by Jambo Jet
 
  • Kisumu -26 weekly flights, additional flights on Bombadier Q400 operated by JamboJet

 

 

Intra – Africa we have increased the frequencies to the following destinations;
  • Mauritius, MRU – Will operate daily
  • Cape town, CPT – From 13X a week to 15X weekly (4 Non-stop on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
  • Kilimanjaro, JRO – Operate 5x weekly and daily between 24 Jun till 31st August 2019.
  • Zanzibar  -5X weekly to daily flight from 5th August 2019
