The Zanzibar Spice Festival

The Zanzibar Spice Festival is an international event organized by the young patriots of Zanzibar (Spice Islands) with the aim of promoting, boosting and rebranding Spices and Tourism in the Blue economy initiative as promoted by the Government to promote the Socio Economy development of Zanzibar. Additionally, it will provide more opportunities for different people to promote their indigenous spices of Zanzibar; the Theme is “Stimulate Blue Economy through Spices” in Swahili means “Kuchochea Uchumi wa Blue kupitia viungo na vikolezo vya chakula”

Zanzibar Spice Festival is organised with the expectation of getting national, regional and international participants to boost the tourism sector in the country. The event will be held on 24th-26th February 2022 at NaneNaneGrounds located in Kizimbani Zanzibar.

Tourism is one of the fastest-growing hospitality industries in Zanzibar and has attracted more than 68 %of investment projects approved by the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA).

OVERVIEW OF THE ZANZIBAR SPICE FESTIVAL

Zanzibar Spice Festival brings together different mixed Cultural and Swahili natures to the world with blended recipes from various corners with an expected good number of visitors more than 2,000 people in an open venue at Nane Nane Grounds, in Kizimbani-Zanzibar.

The Festival will include a showcase of Zanzibar Spices varieties, food recipes, beverages and uniquely Zanzibar culture entertainments.

Event Planners Tanzania as an organizer of the Festival and Key player of the event is proudly supporting His Excellency Honourable the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi with his Slogan of Zanzibar on Blue Economy which is linked to Tourism and Poverty eradication. Therefore, Zanzibar Spice Festival is supporting the move and idea of the Blue economy through this amazing first and memorable upcoming event in Zanzibar. The event will help in translating the slogan and idea of Blue Economy as a means of awareness creation.

The event aims to showcase different spices including local to international standards, thus, there will be spice technologies for farmers and other stakeholders to learn, Foods and Beverage vendors, live cooking demonstrations, music and art shows related to spices.

Zanzibar Spice Festival is unrivalled for three days fair this will provide a unique opportunity and great platform to meet, learn, share experience, network, negotiate, discuss and conduct business between national, regional and international participants and other stakeholders.

Zanzibar Spice Festival 2022 is expecting to be officially opened by His Excellent Honourable the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi accompanied with many other distinguished guests such as Minister responsible for Agriculture, Minister responsible for Trade and Industrial Development, Minister responsible for Information Tourism and Heritage, Investors, Development partners, Government Officials, Philanthropists and Community leaders.
