Sharing Moments Of The Kenya Association Of Hotelkeepers & Caterers Symposium (KAHC)
The Go Places Team was privileged to have attended the Kenya Association Of Hotelkeepers & Caterers Symposium (KAHC) 3 days event on the Kenyan Coast hosted by Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa from the 16th of June to the 18th of June 2022. The theme of this year’s symposium was Rebuilding Tourism.
Day One (16th June 2022) – On the first day, the opening address was made by Mr Mike Macharia and Mr Christopher Musau the CEO and National Chairman respectively. They introduced the KAHC Board and recognised the partners and sponsors of this year’s event which included Safaricom, Tourism Fund, KTB, Novacom, Brookside Dairies, Coastal Bottlers, DSTV, EABL and iHTI. They further highlighted the symposium and a glimpse of what would unfold in the next the 3 day’s event. This was followed by a keynote address from a representative from Mombasa County and the Ministry of Labour.
After the morning networking tea break members returned back to a full afternoon session of forums and presentations by various stakeholders, partners and sponsors. These included Dr Betty Radier CEO of Kenya Tourism Board, Elsa Lunani Head of DSTV Business, Multichoice Kenya, Collecte Akwana Partners at CMS Law, Eng. Stephen Ogenga DG NITA and Anthony Gitonga a Management Consultant.
Day Two (17th June 2022) included an introduction to the Tourism Fund board as well as presentations from George Oywer CEO of Africa Engineering Supplies Ltd on Renewable Energy and Prof. Charles Musyoki principal & CEO of Kenya Utalii College sharing his plan to take Utalii college to greater heights. This was followed by the KAHC member’s annual AGM in the afternoon.
On the last Day (18th June 2022) KAHC held a charity golf tournament at the Nyali Golf Club with an evening of prize-giving and dinner before delegates left at their own pleasure.
