The Boma International Hospitality College 4th Graduation

The Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC) held their 4th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, 20th November 2020 at the Boma Hotel Complex.

In attendance was the Cabinet Secretary of Education Prof George Magoha (guest of honor), Dr. Abbas Gullet (Director BIHC), Gina Din Kariuki (BIHC Board Member), Roberto Simone (General Manager Villa Rosa Kempinski) amongst others. Parents and Family participated in the ceremony through a live stream from their homes.

The Class of 2020 marked yet another cohort of diverse student body meticulously prepared for successful careers in the hospitality and tourism industry having undergone rigorous and world class study and work experiences equipping them to operate service-oriented business entities. The number of grandaunts in this cohort were 100.

BIHC on the same day officially opened its new State of the Art Kitchen that was recently complete. The new kitchen is by far the biggest and most modern Training Kitchen Facility in Africa

 

 

BIHC was established in May 2015 to address the increasing gap in the provision of qualified staff within the hospitality industry in Kenya. BIHC is a World Class Pan-Africa Hospitality and Culinary Art training institute and its curriculum maintains a strong emphasis on Swiss educational traditions, balancing theoretical and practical training to enhance knowledge and skill development.

 

Go Places through its CEO Mansoor Jiwani was honored to attend as one of the VIP guest. Mr. Jiwani is a graduate of Utalii College and he with Nev Jiwani the MD of Go Places and their team have been in the forefront of promoting and marketing Kenya’s Hospitality and Tourism sector. They are also the founder of the Chefs Delight Awards an annual Culinary and Bar & Mixology awards programme that involves the Hospitality sector. The programme recognises and awards the Top Chefs, Culinary and Bar & Mixology teams for attaining high quality of standards in this very competitive sector.
