The 2022 Post-Covid Edition of Propak East Africa Took Place From May 10-12 At The Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to Montgomery Group’s portfolio director for the show, Angela Kinyua, this year’s event saw an impressive increase in exhibitors and visitors as well as a wide product range. There were over 150 exhibitors from over 35 countries, a 13% increase from 2018. Ninety percent of exhibitors met the goals they set for exhibiting and 93% felt that their sales would increase as a result of taking part in the show.
Ninety-seven percent of the 4 168 visitors rated their experience as excellent and reported their primary sectors of interest as packaging (35%), processing (25%), printing and labelling (20%) and plastics (20%).
Furthermore, 98% of visitors achieved their goals for attending the show, which ranged from sourcing new products or suppliers (50%) or meeting with existing suppliers (20%) to networking (15%) and attending a conference session (15%).
Angela adds that the three-day conference programme was a hit, welcoming hundreds of delegates as 20 leading global experts took to the stage to impart their knowledge and insights into the latest developments and innovations in sustainable plastics production; regulatory and policy frameworks; industry standards; skills development; opportunities to increase productivity and reduce waste; as well as waste management challenges and the role of extended producer responsibility, the circular economy, packaging design and recycling.
‘The exhibition and conference sessions within the event were a clear indication that Propak East Africa has grown, and the four sectors represented – packaging, plastics, printing and processing – demonstrated that they have a huge potential for growth,’ she asserts. ‘The next edition of the show will take place from March 14 to 16, 2023.’
