Roshanara Shines At Miss Universe 2021 Preliminary & National Costume Competition
Eilat, Israel (Saturday, 11th December 2021) – Roshanara Ebrahim, Miss Universe Kenya 2021 competed successfully in the Miss Universe preliminary competition that took place on Friday night in Israel, in preparation for the finals slated for this Sunday.
Roshanara has been in Israel since the end of November touring Israel and taking part in various activities. The Preliminary Competition was preceded by an interview with judges. During the preliminary competition, Roshanara competed in swimsuit, evening gown and afterwards competed in the National Costume show with other 80 delegates from around the world.

Roshanara’s competition evening gown was designed by Jian Lasala from the Philippines, through his brand Lasala Atelier. “The evening gown worn by Roshanara at the Miss Universe stage is a manifestation of God’s love & faithfulness,” said Jian. “It is also a manifestation of how God’s sees us with so much love & delight. The gown was made in 15-days total and over 6 different crystals were used to create the ombré effect”
The evening gown has garnered praise and high accolades from pageant experts and fashion observers from around the world.
During the National Costume competition, Roshanara wore an intricate outfit by Jamil Walji of Jamil Walji Couture. “Designing the national costume was something very dear to me.
Energetically I connected and felt Rosh as the warrior and protector of the ocean. Because back with her upbringing in the coastal region I felt our beautiful coastal marine life needed to be protected.” Walji explained. “And so I put out a voice through Rosh to Universe. Hence I came up with a sustainable fashion made of fish leather and recycled flip flops from ocean sole. Seeing Rosh grace the runway gave me a lot of joy and love.”
During her stay in Israel, Roshanara has also been dressed by Liz Ogumbo Fashion, accessories provided by Adele Dejak, bags by UNLEASH in an exceptional show of support by Kenyan fashion brands and designers.
The Miss Universe finals were aired FOX and Telemundo on Sunday, December 12th (US Eastern time).
