In my quest to look for a 3/4star business hotel along Ngong road landed me at Ngong hills hotel I had not visited this facility for a while but I knew it was refurbished so I organized for a site visit with the sales and marketing manager Mr. Martin Wambugu. My welcome from the gate was outstanding, the guard explained to us we needed to have our hand washed at point of entry and temperature checked then he ushered us in. Before getting into the lobby we also had to sanitize.
I could seriously tell a lot has changed. As we waited for the Receptionist to alert our host of our arrival the fountain at the lounge was quite soothing was only interrupted by our host’s greetings. Mr.Wambugu welcomed us and gave us a brief history of Ngong Hills hotel.
It was started in 1975 though it has changed hands over time. Currently the hotels has 110 rooms and suites which by all standards are quite spacious, airy and very clean. The décor was outstanding and quite unique. Loved the light shades. The facility also have 7 modern conference halls. Which I noted all social distancing rules have been observed.
The hotels bar was closed but the restaurant was operational on a la carte basis and still all covid19 guidelines strictly observed. The facility also has a gym for residents. Enough parking lot and the establishment is quite accessible.
Things that stood out for me is the level of customer service from everyone I interacted with, the seriousness on observing the stipulated safety Covid19 Guidelines for hospitality industry , I mean there were sanitizers at every corner and places to wash hands in designated areas. Signs to advise clients on what is expected of them to stay safe.
If I was a business traveler on long stay I would choose the suite, for more space and comfort and the flexibility of I can fix myself something to eat if I need to.
As we exit this urban 4star rated hotel I knew it was what I was looking for.
