Passengers travelling from any destination within Africa can now enjoy a two-piece baggage allowance onboard Qatar Airways to select destinations
Qatar Airways operates over 700 weekly flights to over 100 destinations worldwide

DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways is pleased to announce new baggage allowances to passengers travelling from any African destination.
From today, Qatar Airways passengers can enjoy two pieces of luggage allowances in Business Class and Economy to select destinations. By travel class, these are:
- Business Class: up to 64 Kg split over two pieces, each not exceeding 32 Kg.
- Economy Class: up to 46 Kg split over two pieces, each not exceeding 23 Kg.
Qatar Airways Vice President Commercial Africa, Hendrik Du Preez, said: “Our new baggage allowances are designed to offer passengers more flexibility and comfort when travelling on board with us. With our newly announced baggage allowances for both Economy and Business Class, passengers can make the most of this whether they are visiting relatives or for tourism purposes, and travel with complete peace of mind as they embark on their journeys.”
By the end of 2020, Qatar Airways will operate to 19 destinations in Africa, including Accra, Addis Ababa, Algiers, Cape Town, Casablanca, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Durban, Entebbe, Johannesburg, Kigali, Kilimanjaro, Lagos, Luanda, Maputo, Mogadishu, Nairobi, Tunis and Zanzibar.
In celebration of more than 100 aircraft being fitted with Super Wi-Fi, the airline is currently offering all passengers free on-board Wi-Fi connectivity until 2 January 2021. Qatar Airways now offers the largest number of aircraft equipped with high-speed broadband connectivity in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
Qatar Airways recently announced its voluntary carbon offer programme for passengers in partnership with IATA and ClimateCare. Passengers can opt in to Qatar Airways’ carbon offset programme when purchasing tickets through the Qatar Airways website and mobile application.
A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ by the 2019 World Airline Awards, managed by the international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. By the end of the IATA Winter Season, Qatar Airways’ plans to rebuild its network to 126 destinations including 20 in Africa, 11 in the Americas, 42 in Asia-Pacific, 38 in Europe and 15 in the Middle East. Many cities will be served with a strong schedule with daily or more frequencies.
