Kenya To Tap Into Cruise Tourism

Najib Balala, Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife revealed the country’s plan to venture into the cruise tourism market. Cruise Tourism according to the CS, Najib Balala would be a lucrative market for Kenya since most of the tourists arriving by sea are the High -end holiday markers. 

“Mombasa is a perfect destination for cruise high-end holidaymakers. It would even take a short time to head to National Parks for game drives,” he said

Balala also revealed that Kenya is building a Ksh. 350 million cruise ship terminal at the port and they expect it to be completed by November 2019.

He was speaking at the just concluded 9th edition of Magical Kenya Travel Expo that brought together over 200 exhibitors from Africa who met with 150 global buyers from 25 key source markets
