Sally Karago Garment Designs Inspired by the the Infinix Zero 8 Android Smartphone
From conception, illustration to the final garments. Sally Karago collections got the opportunity to design garments inspired by the New Infinix Zero 8 smartphone. The collaboration Elaborated the impact Fashion has on Technology and vice versa.
“My partnership with Infinix was quite Exciting. Being my first project to work with a mobile phone company, thats being launched in Kenya. I know it’s been there before but this was a new Infinix smart phone design – The infinix Zero 8
In this collection I wanted to bring my all in it, as a fashion designer the use of technology is paramount. Designers use technology to expand their creativity through tools such as the internet where they draw their inspiration from, also through Illustrations and use of Computer Aided Designs
The designs I created where inspired by the Turkana Community. From their Lifestyle to their clothing and beaded accessories and ornaments. I incorporated the colors on the New Infinix Zero 8 which are Diamond Green, White and Black. The Diamond shapes on the clothing is inspired by the shape of the Camera on back of the phone.
The journey was worth while as the garments come out beautifully. It was such an Honor to get to work with such an awesome team”
Sally Karago is a renowned Kenyan fashion designer that has stirred the imagination of the Kenyan fashion industry since her début in 1993 at the Smirnoff Awards. Sally Karago’s interest in fashion began at the tender age of twelve. Sally loved to stitch dresses for her dolls and insisted on coordinating clothing for her parents and sisters.
