10th December, 2020, Nairobi, Kenya  – Srinivas Cheruvu the Finance  Director of DT Dobie and Sarfraz Premji the General Manager Hyundai launched the Hyundai EX9.

To meet the growing demand for nine tonne trucks DT Dobie, the sole distributor for Hyundai light trucks has introduced the nine tonne segment an alternative to the five and seven tonne versions which have been assembled by KVM in Thika for the past eight years. The Hyundai range sold and serviced by the Company now consists of five, seven and the EX 9 nine tonne variants.

The key attributes are an extra-long chassis, superior fuel efficiency, powerful exhaust brake and hydraulic power steering among others. The trucks carry a three year, or 100,000 kilometre warranty which clearly illustrates the confidence of the Hyundai Motor Company.

A significant number of owners operate fleets of more than 10 Hyundai trucks and a high proportion of them have covered more than 500,000 kilometres with only routine maintenance and minor repairs. Users are fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) distributors, farmers, bakeries, builders, manufacturing companies and transporters.

The long wheel base of the nine tonne version makes this truck adaptable to a variety of bodies that can be fitted to the cargo area. They can be built to suit different business needs including vans for refrigerated cargoes and outside catering, flatbeds and dump and tank trucks.

The Hyundai vehicles are serviced at the state of the art DT Dobie workshop on Lusaka Road which has a large stock of genuine parts. Branches in Mombasa, Nakuru and Kisumu also sell and service these trucks. Workshops are staffed by experienced technicians who undergo regular training courses to meet the best possible maintenance and repairs standards.

The Hyundai Motor Company was founded in 1967 and is one of the top automotive brands. Hyundai is currently rated as the world’s fourth largest automotive manufacturer.
