AviaDev Europe Team Getting Stronger

AviaDev brings together airlines, airports, suppliers and tourism professionals with an ambition to increase air connectivity and facilitate growth in Africa and Europe.

The fourth edition of AviaDev Africa was held in Cape Town in April 2019 and cemented its position as the leading route development event for the African continent.

The city of Valencia has been confirmed as the host of the second edition of AviaDev Europe, the aviation development forum geared towards Europe’s regional airports and airlines. The event will take place on 23 – 25 October 2019 at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Spain.  It is the only route development event taking place in Europe in the second half of year. The theme of this year´s event is: Global View, Regional Focus.

The AviaDev Europe team has been strengthened by the appointment of two highly experienced industry professionals: Tony Hallwood and Mike Robinson, who have both joined in the position of Aviation Development Director.

Tony Hallwood brings over 30 years aviation experience in the airport and airline industry to the AviaDev team and he has held a wide number of director roles. Between 2003 and 2017, Tony was Aviation Development Director at two of the UK’s fastest growing regional airports – Bristol Airport and Leeds Bradford Airport, leading both to deliver significant and record traffic under his tenure. His success at delivering new routes and increased frequencies across the full service, low cost and charter sectors allowed Tony to develop and build strong relationships with a wide range of short and long-haul carriers.

Mike Robinson’s career in aviation has spanned over 35 years, during which time he has worked with or for over a hundred airlines, airports and related businesses across six continents. Mike’s adventure started at British Airways, where he enjoyed 15 successful years in a range of commercial, operational and leadership roles in Europe and beyond. Since then, he has focused on professional advisory and interim management roles. Trusted with the leadership of IATA’s Airline Consulting practice, he has advised some of the industry’s leading brands on every aspect of their business model.

In a further reorganisation, and to ensure streamlined operations, Jon Howell will now manage the whole company as a CEO & Founder, being engaged predominantly with the African part of the business.

Juraj Toth has been appointed Managing Director for AviaDev Europe, leading the team of Aviation Development Directors Ged Brown, Tony Hallwood and Mike Robinson.
