Once upon a time. Those four words just might be among the most powerful in the entire world.
One beautiful sunny day I was enjoying time with friends and their young children by a swimming pool in Nairobi. The children were playing and jumping in and out of the swimming pool, having lots of fun.
Suddenly it started to rain lightly – yet the sun was still shining, a friend’s 6 year old girl came up to me and said ‘Lisa, it’s raining BUT the sun is still shining.
Is this normal? I don’t understand!!!
I said: This is what is known as “A Monkey’s Wedding” and so I told her the story about “A monkey’s Wedding” and from that moment, I made mental notes that I must actually write the story about “ A monkey’s Wedding”.
There are many myths in Africa, actually around the world to what it is called, when it rains lightly and the sun shines at the same time.
A good story is almost impossible to resist.
There is much joy in writing and sharing stories is what I have always enjoyed.
