IndiGo Airlines announces the upcoming launch of flights to Nairobi, expanding their reach in Africa

IndiGo Airlines, India’s largest airline, is looking to start operating direct flights to Nairobi, Kenya, as part of its expansion plans to become the gateway to Africa. According to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, the airline is looking to expand its international reach, focusing on connecting with tourism, business, and the Indian diaspora. IndiGo currently operates to 76 domestic and 26 international destinations and plans to introduce flights to Nairobi, Jakarta, and some Central Asian destinations in the coming summer. The airline is also looking at expanding its network with the introduction of new wide-body planes, including the Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Despite increasing competition in the Indian aviation market, IndiGo remains optimistic about its growth prospects, with strong economic growth in India helping to boost the airline’s fortunes.
