Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages is a continuation of story-telling and building of history around Karen Blixen, the famous author of the Out of Africa novel. Set in what used to be Karen Blixen’s old coffee farm estate, the cottages are approximately 20 miles from downtown Nairobi, Kenya. Located in a beautiful and peaceful setting on Karen Road, about half a mile from the Karen Golf and Country Club, the property is the site of the original farmhouse which was part of the Blixen property.

The spacious cottages have all of the amenities guests require. The accessible rooms have spacious beds, free-turning space on both sides of the bed, a seating area with a fireplace, a television, a mini-bar, a desk, and more. The bathrooms have slip-free flooring, elegant shower tiles, shower seats and toilet grab-bars to allow as much flexibility as possible.
Guest can also enjoy In-house room service from our restaurant or one can as well relax for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the restaurant, bar or pergola while enjoying the soothing ambience of the place.

Centrally and conveniently located, it is a short walk from the Karen Blixen Museum, Kazuri Bead Factory and an easy 10-minute drive from the popular Daphne Sheldrick Elephant & Rhino Orphanage as well as the Giraffe Centre. Just 10 minutes away, it is also well-placed for a game drive in Nairobi National Park where one can spot the big game with the city skyline in the background. The Southern bypass makes Wilson Airport, which is used for all safari flights in Kenya, a quick 20 minutes drive. The bypass combined with the new Express Way on Mombasa Rd makes a transfer to/from Jomo Kenyatta a breeze.
