Team Kenya At The Tokyo Olympics 2020

The Tokyo summer Olympics originally scheduled to take place in 2020, was postponed and the 32nd international multi-sport event was held from 23 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan and retained the name Tokyo 2020.  Team Kenya were the Medal leaders within the African Continent and finished overall in 19th position

 

The Kenyan team comprised of 87 athletes with 49 women and 38 men. About 11,000 athletes from 204 participating nations were able to compete in this years Tokyo Olympics 2020.

 

Kenyan athletes flew the countries flag high in the Japanese Capital and finished as the leading African Nation bagging 10 Medals in Total of which 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals

Eliud Kipchoge – Men’s Marathon
Emmanuel Korir – Men’s 800m
Peres Jepchirchir – Women’s Marathon
